The SEAT European Cup Series (or SECS) was born out of the final race of OSCAR. It was such a success it almost formed the basis of Season 7, but lost out to GTSSS by a single vote. But the theme was so popular it was decided as the theme for Season 9.

The Format

Each event will consist of 4 sessions: 1 qualifying shoot-out session, 1 sprint race, 1 feature race and a support race. First will come a qualifying shoot-out. 2 laps to set your fastest lap time and book your spot on the grid for the first race. As per usual RRR rules, clean qualifying laps always come before dirty ones, no matter how fast the dirty ones may be.

The first race will be a 25-minute feature race with a grid decided by the qualifying session. This race will feature a mandatory pit-stop to be taken during the middle third of the race. Exactly which laps the pit-stop windows fall on will be detailed in the week leading up to the event.

The second race will be a 15-minute sprint race with a reversed grid dictated by lobby points scored up until that point, taking into account Qualifying and Race 1. Once the main series races are over the drivers will swap their SEATs for the support Abarths, a 10-15 minute race with a random grid.

This will be the first season of Really Rubbish Racing to feature dropped scores. A driver's lowest-scoring event will be deducted from their points total. This is to accommodate any drivers who have to miss an event they would otherwise have attended.
