OrpheusFirbrand (Pronounced "Firebrand" and not "Furbrand") is a student, expert procrastinator and full-time gamer.

Born in Colchester, Essex, Orpheus grew up knowing next to nothing about the town he grew up in, only taking the barest interest during History class. He knows the Romans once owned it and he knows that they lost it.

Which is more than enough.

Life

Childhood

This consisted mostly of cheap toy cars, cheaper car mats, playing with matches and sitting on his ThunderTank. His mum threw it away, and to this day he has never forgiven "Past-Orpheus" for his stupidity.

His first console (and indeed racing) experience was a Formula One racing game for the Game Boy (the name of which he cannot recall, and it infuriates him). This grew into Pokémon, and that particular story could go on forever.

Post-Childhood

He grew up, experiencing a variety of games and doing stupid things because apparently "Screw you I do what I want." (It hasn't worked out for him so far.)

Top Gear 2 on the SNES was the staple racing game until he got his paws on Gran Turismo 3. After GT3, he found himself on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. It is during this time that he decided the brakes weren't for him, and got by purely on dumb luck.

Just like everything he manages to complete.

Now

He's no smarter, he's lazier than ever before and an avid fan of FPS games. But, the racing bug is a hard one to get rid of, and he found himself wanting. His housemate (now ex) introduced him to Forza4, which he found love with simply because he could paint cars (albeit poorly)

He lives in Middlesbrough, scrapes through his modules by working harder and faster as deadlines crawl nearer and survives on noodles, because gosh darn that DLC isn't going to buy itself, nor are these generic FPSes.

Racing Experience

Pre-Gran Turismo 4

Brakes weren't used, the cars with the highest BHP were used and it was messy. Very very messy.

Orpheus hates talking about it.

(This encompasses Top Gear 2 (though brakes weren't quite necessary there), Gran Turismo 3 and Need for Speed: Hot pursuit 2)

Gran Turismo 4

Given that the concept of 'team' isn't one that can be applied here, Orpheus raced mostly in what he enjoyed, which would be the Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM

It is here that he discovered the beauty of the brake.

Gran Turismo 5

Orpheus cannot recollect much of this game. All he remembers is Red Bull's X2011, and going unreasonably fast.

Forza 4

He developed an unusual desire to collect every car he possibly could, and often spent money designated to shopping on DLC. Most likely due to the massive collection of cars he knew were available. (He sulks because no game he's played has yet given him a Proton Satria to play with.)

It is whilst browsing the designs for the Nissan 370z that he stumbled upon ajokay's own design. A request for the much loved livery, and a few back and forth messages saw ajokay inviting Orpheus to RRR, where he is now.

Outside of Racing

Orpheus is an avid fan of the Call of Duty series, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry and Pokémon series; to this day his favourite game series is and always will be the Oddworld collection.

He hopes to one day own a PS3 to call his own, and to see the world finally shut up about how "Only Gen 1 is the true Pokémon generation!"
