Early Life & Racing Career
Em's first taste of racing came in 1997, with a copy of Andretti Racing for the Sega Saturn. Despite having no interest in motorsport, she soon learnt how to tune cars and pit without crashing into walls, eventually playing Manx TT Superbike and Sega Rally Championship with moderate success. All this was undone on one tragic day in the spring of 2002, when she found the Saturn had been traded in at Cash Converters for a measly 50p.
8 years later, Em made a quiet return to racing with the Virgin F1 Team on F1 2010. She was close to points finishes on many occasions, but either spun off or broke down, eventually shelving the game due to insomnia and her race engineer's annoying voice. Em then bought F1 2011 and started a successful career with Williams, claiming 3rd in the drivers standings in her first season. Although a contract renewal was offered and several midfield teams made approaches, Em decided to take a brief hiatus from racing due to ill health.
Personal Life
Em's been a motorsport fan since Sebastian Vettel's F1 debut in 2007, supporting Red Bull and Toro Rosso. But now that her interest in F1 is waning, she's grown to enjoy other championships, including GP2/GP3, IndyCar, World Series by Renault, the BTCC, and the World Endurance Championship. When she's not being a Really Rubbish Racer, Em's either keeping fit with exercise, feeding her Twitter addiction, or being taken out on walks by her beloved dog Oscar. Her favourite band (which changes constantly) are The Hives, and she uses emoticons way more than she should.
