The Carrera Turismes de Catalunya (English: Catalan Touring Car Race), sponsored by Banco Santander* is the second event of the second season of Really Rubbish Racing competition.
The event takes place at the Circuit de Catalunya, outside the city of Barcelona in the the Catalonia region of Spain. The layout used is the National Circuit, which cuts short the first sector of the full circuit lap with a hairpin two-thirds of the distance along the start/finish straight. This then re-joins the circuit at the left hand flat-out kink that is turn 6.

Everyone got away cleanly from the line and it was a battle to see who could make the first corner first. There was some contact between new boy OpenedAutumn58 and Original 8 member Javaguy360. Both drivers were sent into a spin and their races were difficult to recover from that point. This left a leading pack of Dan Thorn, Umack84, Smifaye and C R Welsh85.
Dan Thorn was leading the race with Smifaye closing the gap. Smifaye made use of his top speed advantage to close the gap with Dan being quicker in the twisty downforce dependent part of the track. Smifaye then was close enough to make a move going down the start finish straight. Smifaye moved over to show himself in Dan's mirrors, Dan then braked too late which let Smifaye into the lead.
The last few laps were extremely tense with Smifaye out in the lead with Dan Thorn closing the gap lap by lap. By the last lap the drivers were nose to tail. Dan then made a last effort into the last chicane making contact with Smifaye, the two drivers were side by side going into the last right hander then Dan ran wide giving Smifaye his first win in the championship.

C R Welsh85 started on pole position for the feature race and got away cleanly. Umack84 got away best and was up into second by the exit of the first corner. Umack then ran wide at turn 2 which let Smifaye get past on the outside of turn 3. Smifaye then made a most ambitious move on the outside of the track against C R Welsh85, both drivers squeezed into the following tight chicane. C R Welsh85 then ran wide at the right hander after the tight hairpin which let Smifaye past into the lead. Smifaye then set about setting some fast laps and working out when the best time was to pit.
First into the pits was C R Welsh85 of the Angry Racing Team. C R Welsh85 was fitted with fresh tyres and could notice the difference instantly. Smifaye used this useful piece of information to pit just a few laps later and made use of the fresh tyres. Dan Thorn chose to stay out longer to try and feed back into first place but rejoined the race in 2nd place. Smifaye then maintained the gap to Dan Thorn of around 11 seconds to take his second win of the season, and 7th of his Really Rubbish Racing career.
