For Bon Anniversaire! events in general, see Bon Anniversaire.
Bon Anniversaire! is Really Rubbish Racing's first birthday event, commemorating the formation of the club and our first ever race in June 2011. The anniversary falls very close to the 24 Heures du Mans endurance race famous in the real world, and so to tie in with the sportscar all-nighter, this Special Event will also take on the form of a sportscar endurance race. This Inaugural running is the 10th Really Rubbish Racing Special Event overall.
2 classes of car will be split fairly evenly evenly across a maximum of 2 lobbies, allowing for 32 entries. It is planned that each lobby will have an equal number of LMP GT cars, although this is subject to change. Any club member and team may enter. Teams may field as many cars as they wish and may also be split across different classes.
Contents
Event Format
The race will consist of 30 (currently) laps of the Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe. Cars will start in their classes, and in liu of a long formation lap, the race will feature a standing start with a grid roll-off of 3-5 seconds. The race will last around 2 hours and will finish when the lead car crosses the line at the end of the 30th (or so, we haven't decided yet) lap. Each of the two classes will have a class winner, podium, and fastest lap awarded.
Tyre wear, fuel consumpion, and damage will be ON. This is an endurance race and therefore a race of attrition. If you go balls-to-the-wall fast and slam into a wall on the 2nd lap wrecking your car, that's your own fault. If you feel you must do this, please don't take any other cars into the wall with you. The racing line will also be forced off. All other driver aids will be allowed.
There are no mandatory pit stops, however tyres will last anywhere between 4 and 8 laps before they reach 100% wear, and your fuel will run out around lap 18-20. Internal car damage can be fixed should you be able to make it back to the pits, however aerodynamic damage cannot be. Your top speed and handling will suffer if you damage your car's bodywork.
Cars
The cars are to be split across 2 classes. Both cars have a varying PI range, from R1 998 to R1 971 for the LMP cars, and from R3 763 to S 699 for the GT cars. All cars are fitted with drag tyres to speed up tyre degridation, as the standard slick racing tyres will only just about become undrivable towards the end of the race. DLC cars are allowed. Porsches are not. If you have beef with that, blame Turn 10 and/or EA.
LMP Class
The LMP class will consist of contemporary LMP1 cars from the year 2000 onwards. The cars will be of stock specification apart from the addition of drag tyres. Cars can be tuned in whatever way the driver sees fit to compliment their own personal driving style
- Peugeot 908
- Audi R15
- Audi R10
- Acura ARX-02a
- Aston Martin Lola
- Audi R18 TDI
- Audi R15++
- Audi R8
- Aston Martin AMR One
- Cadillac LMP-02
- Bentley Speed 8
GT Class
The GT class will consist of contemporary LMP1 cars from the year 2000 onwards. The cars will be of various specification, including the addition of drag tyres. The event organisers have upgraded some of the cars to try to achieve parity with the higher PI'd machines. Cars can be tuned in whatever way the driver sees fit to compliment their own personal driving style, but cannot be up/downgraded any further than what has been set by the organisers.
- Ferrari 458 Italia GTC
- Ferrari 430GT
- Ford GT Mk7
- Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
- BMW M3 GT2
- Jaguar XKR GT
- Panoz Esperante GTLM
- Audi R8 LMS
- BMW M3 GTR
- Dodge Viper Competition Coupe
- Mercedes SLS AMG GT3
- Lotus Evora 124

The race itself will be long. We're hoping to be able to drum up enough interest and staying power for a 2 hour race, if not more.
All of the above can be discussed on the forum.
All club members can help out with making sure the cars are as equal as possible by checking out the Bon Anniversaire! Official Testing page.
