After an absence of over five years from Realish Racing competition, Nic Redhead made a winning return in the first round of Realish Rally Championship 3 at the Acropolis Rally in Greece. He was 25 seconds ahead of fellow returnee PJ Tierney, while April Carlsvard edged the final podium spot from reigning champion Mark Gormley by 1.6 seconds, while last season’s runner up Lazaros Filippakos was less than four seconds further back.
Neil Sheard was best of the rest behind the favourites, ahead of Campbell Wallis. Allie Ferrie edged Tom Alderton for 8th by two seconds, with Matthew Wheeler claiming the remaining point.
A rally of attrition saw only twelve finishers from nineteen starters. Three drivers crashed out in the third stage alone, while the final stage claimed two more drivers (who, however, completed enough stages to be classified).
The next round is Rallye Deutschland, starting on Wednesday, 19th August 2020.
