It definitely looks like it rides the kerbs better, power delivery seems a lot less murderous from what I can see. Appears fundamentally faster than the current iteration, seeing as he's doing 1:13s on the soft compound with a decent amount of fuel in. That's rapid even with DRS. For reference I'd probably manage 1:13s on the soft supersoft compound (I'm not that good) on an all-out qualifying run, I might have to go and find out for sure... for science, of course. 8-)

Okay, makes more sense @shaxberd :)
I think you understand what I'm on about. I have no grudge with the game or developers at all.
I hope Reiza don't really cock it up like many developers do. It's becoming more and more common for developers to take money for an unfinished product and run away from it because of multiple things.
From what you have said it seems Reiza are just trying to keep everyone happy? So by doing that, they have to keep the "hype" so have to develop little bits of what is to come to show what they are doing technically.
Anyhow I hope they will get it to work. Its not a bad start but I get the feeling they are rushing it. They are only a small team and should do the best at each bit.so if it takes a while then so be it.

July update is close, though it's not V1.0.

Maybe I'm weird, but I'm actually really happy to have the engine update coming. It sounds like the kind of thing rF2 has already done, which really changes how they react to throttle inputs in a big way for the better. Closer to the real thing AND easier to handle. Usually it means that peak torque and HP happens at lower RPMs at lower throttle positions, which isn't the case with SCE/rF1's engine model (which simply blends linearly between 0% and 100% throttle torque curves). The main effect here is performance drops off as revs increase more when you're not using maximum throttle, which naturally limits wheelspin because it removes that 'runaway' effect you can get from the engine even when you're trying to be careful.

The Formula Vintage looks like fun. Will have to get the beta installed so I can have a peek at that, see if they got that one right. I hope so, it'd be a shame if it were just another Boxer Cup.

V1.0 drops tomorrow, supposedly. I guess it's finally time to take the F Vintage out for a spin, right @shaxberd? :D

Yup - gonna wait for the update to hit, but unless it's utterly broken, it'll be Vintages at Rouen les Essarts (if we can get the track to work) or Johannesburg or both for Friday ;)

Ever wanted a mod which allows you to change your spotter to Sebastian Vettel briefly? No? Well here you go anyway.

Is the new DLC worth getting?
Or just wait until we use AMS as main game and have all the DLC like in Race07?

As it looks right now, AMS will be our main (minus a special event or two) game for 2017, and I could imagine a track from the brit pack appearing in S21 (likewise for the Imola and Hockenheim DLCs, I guess), so there's that.
I wouldn't recommend buying the single DLC though - if you're gonna invest, get the season pass for a few quid more, and while we're at it, don't buy it via Steam but go for the cheaper (25$ vs 30$) option at Reiza's themselves: http://forum.reizastudios.com/pages/buy-automobilista/

Steam sale is on. And I do believe we will be using DLC next year, so it's probably worth getting it if you don't have it already.

At the time of typing:

Base game - £12
Imola DLC - £2.39
Brit Pack DLC - £4.49

Or the Season Pass (i.e. all DLCs) - £17.24
(I am unsure if this is cheaper than going through Reiza's forum though)

Yep, cheaper than through the forums - regarding official 2017 competition: Buy the Brit Pack at least :)

The legend that is Patrick has updated his mega track pack, which includes a few additions including my local(ish) track Snetterton, Autopolis, Jerez, Le Mas du Clos and Thruxton.

That's a few club nights sorted then ;)

So logged in when I got home from work to some interesting updates from AMS

I now had a new selection - ARC Camaro Series

(I believe you have to have the season pass to receive if it as its still beta testing according to the update write up)

Also now have Adelaide - see video below

***Be prepared to make adjustments to your audio settings. There is now an option for wind and it is 100% so if like me you have certain things turned down it is overpowering. I actually just shut it off.

Bloody hell this car is godly. Just remember to close DRS before going into a flat out corner.
