Week 6 sees the Mega GT visit the first of 2 classic Gran Turismo circuits, the High Speed Ring.

Rounds 10 and 11 of the Mega GT World Tour will take place on Wednesday, February 25th, racing at the following:

  • High Speed Ring (Forward) - 7 Minute Qualifying Session
  • High Speed Ring (Forward) - 30 Minute Feature Race
  • High Speed Ring (Forward) - 20 Minute Sprint Race

Here is the event schedule for Wednesday, February 25th:

  • 19.30 - Lobbies Open, Free Practice Begins
  • 20.00 - Races Start
  • 21.15 - Expected Finishing Time

This event will be hosted in the Really Rubbish Racing club on Gran Turismo 6 (Club ID: 1024917).
This will be a normal Club Lobby hosted by me (PSN: PJTierney).
You must be a member of this in-game club in order to race.

If you want to practice before the event, you can download the lobby settings or compete in practice rooms via the Really Rubbish Racing in-game club (Club ID: 1024917) or look them up manually on the Wiki.

Instead of the in-game options, we will be using TeamSpeak in order to host voice communications. All drivers are advised to set this up before the event begins. For more information check out this thread.

Before competing, all drivers must make sure that they have read and understood the following:

Please confirm your intention to race by posting in this thread, and feel free to discuss the event, share laptimes and tips etc. with your fellow drivers :)

Had a quick blast around here with Patch, ejay, Neil and Bear. This could be the messiest event of the season, so I want to give everybody a few pointers:

Oversteer will destroy you, especially on the banking. It will make you spin out. It will destroy your tyres. Trying too hard will make your tyres go amber or red on the screen and that will not do it any good. If you spin off here, you will do it at high speed, and your tyres will almost certainly be ruined straight away.

The pit lane is a bit weird here. Please signal via TeamSpeak when you are entering the pits. Leaving is not so bad.

We did a quick race and managed 18 laps. My soft tyres were completely annihilated after 10, and it got to the point where they were punctured. Other drivers were having theirs down to 0 after less.

Side-by-side along the banking is doable, but it could end up very nasty if either of you spin out.

You blast out of the tunnel and the sunlight momentarily blinds you just at the moment you suddenly need to be over to the left for the pit entrance.

These races might be even more fun than the wet one at Brands.

Just stay in line with the left most row of lights on the tunnel ceiling, fire you out right in line.

I'm guessing RS; RH might spin easier due to having less grip, especially at the rear.

It will be tricky. Yesterday, my front right was gone in 8th lap, even being 2 sec. slower than Craig. I hope I will find the way to make it work a little bit longer. Otherwise I'll go for hards.

Softs do last a lot less than hards. This will allow for some potential differing strategy coming into play here. The fact that the two lasts for the same amount of time appears to have been fixed, as they strictly speaking shouldn't last for the same amount of time. The hards are notably slower than the softs though over one lap, even on a lap as short as this.

I agree. 1.04.8 on softs, 1.07.8 on hards. I'll have to check my transmission settings, as I was unable to overtake Craig after following him the whole straight, and ACB stripped my number plate two laps after. Never over 265.
