Any idea what time/dates the DTM races will be on? Doubt I'd be able to make it but would like to.

You could always race as The Indypendables. In the signup (when it goes up) you can put the club tag as [RlyR] and still represent the club. 8-)

I just want to reiterate that this is very much as side project, and really shouldn't take focus away from our own seasons and events. We don't want to lose people to VM, this is just a little something extra for those who wish to do it. The main focus of this club is our own seasons and events

So how we doing for Silverstone? I just put 20 laps in. Got a 1:50.968. Anyone know if this is competitive?

I won't be racing this weekend (won't have XBL set up yet).

4 pics for the Wiki should be ideal, try and get 1 of each RRR driver racing :)

Lobby 1 GT is expected to be mid to low 49s.

I reckon if you can break 1:50 you'll be doing really well.

Meh. 2nd crappest out of all drivers racing tonight basically. Really hated the car today and these races just seem far too long. 1h10m nearly? Crazy. Ah well. Will run with assists on for the rest of the races. Lost the motivation to care about the back stepping out every corner so I just let it after a while, plus it seemed like most of the slower people there use them anyway.
Captured it but its so crap I wont even bother thinking of putting it up (including a bit where I pull over for 2 minutes to go see to Jack. Sam could have gone but I really wasnt that bothered).
Off back to CM 01-02

Well it is a series based on a real-life endurance series, they're supposed to be long.

Meanwhile in the lobby above (lobby 5... there were only 6 this week) I had a whale of a time. I qualified with a time faster than I'd managed in the 10 laps of testing, which was good enough for mid-pack in the session.

When it came to the race lobbies, my time was good enough for GT pole position in lobby 5. I got away well but the guy in 2nd in a Jag got ahead on the lap 2 after I went slightly wide. I followed him for 9 laps, each of us overtaking and re-overtaking each other This was losing us time to those behind though, and I knew I was faster than this, I just knew it, so I pitted in an attempt to have a few laps. He pitted the lap after but I'd had a good out lap and got ahead.

After a couple more laps I managed to drop him by a few hundred feet and then it was just a case of doing 20 laps or so in clean air, just keeping it clean and consistent, which I managed to do very well if I say so myself. Overtook the other GT's as they pitted and stayed clear of the LMP's as they shot by. Although I had a brown pants moment at one point where 2 battling LMP's Zonta'd me on the way into Priory. I shat myself, they both shat themselves, but we all got through cleanly somehow!

Anyway, finished the race as the first GT, 3000 ft ahead of 2nd place and a few seconds off of lapping the slowest GT. Very very happy with the result and my journey to the result.

Yeah think I was just in a bad mood yesterday. Had bugger all sleep the night before thanks to Jack being ill and stupid F1. One of the guys that was in my lobby last night got in touch and helped me with some tuning and now I at least have a car that is a lot more stable again. Felt like I was having to fight the car once the pressures had increased after a couple of laps with my tune. Could get laptime out of it still though but had to be on it. After doing 20m quali, 30m practice then 1h10m racing, I was sick of the car and ached all over from being tensed up for so long. Think next week I will keep my assists off still and not race in between quali and race. Should help with the tensing up.

Thats fair enough. My right hand was experiencing some severe cramp half way through the race, we did do a fair few practise laps between qualifying and the race!

Anyway, the championship standings from round 1 are up!

In the LMP and GT teams championships we're 4th of 8 and 6th of 12... completely and utterly average!

Really Average Racing. RAWWWWR!

Sorry I missed this last night. Lots of girls came around to our house. There were just enough to make me not race.

Did OK last night. Lobby 6. Started on pole after doing a 2:01. Could have done faster but couldnt hook it up into one lap. Race time and, thanks to some idiots in the lobby not knowing how to do a rolling start, it took us 3 times to get underway after an earlier delay because someone didnt know how to select a car from his own garage. *FACEPALM*
So anyway, had a bad start and lost the lead, but the guy in second ran wide at turn 1 and I got the spot back. Kept it until around lap 8 when the guy in second started closing. He got past after I ran wide a couple of times between the 2 chicanes at the end of the lap. Made a last minute decision to pit that lap to avoid having to follow him in traffic and because LMP's were coming up on us and had chance to lose us time. Kept the clean air and pumping in the fast laps so eventually came out in front again. Never looked like catching me after that as had found my speed again, hitting regular 2:00's and then towards the end, finally dipping into the 1:59's on a regular basis (I was the only GT in lobby to get below 2 mins, so got a Flap too).

Congrats Ben, very well done, some good strategy calls there.

I took a last minute decision not to race. Was busy with the T-Shirt designs that I'd started earlier and wanted to get finished. Was doing some painting and wikiing too. And after the early mornings and IndyCar too, didn't have the brain energy to focus for over an hour.

Cheers guys. Was literally a last minute call on the strategy but happy it turned out alright. Was something that got brought up casually when doing some piss about ALMS running on Thursday night after our races so thought I would see if it worked.

Anyway, am currently rendering a full screen cap of my race. Will stick it on the RRR Youtube when its done (be a few hours yet as its obviously quite a long race)

Sebring. Did a few practise laps beforehand with Kimster and managed a best of 2:07.3. Went into qualifying and managed to go slightly better with a 2:07.1. That was good enough for lobby 4/5, but still only the 6th fastest out of 7 GT cars.

In the race, made up a space by the first corner and then ran a tidy first lap. Overtook another in the early part of lap 2 but approaching the hairpin the guy in front of me had colossal brain fade and completely wiped out the guy in front of him. That was two spots gained. I then caught the lobby host who was driving a very squirrelly BMW M3 and passed him leaving the hairpin on lap 3. I pulled away from him as he held everyone behind me up, but spent the remaining 25 laps ever so slowly catching the GT leader who was very fast in his Porsche 911 RSR.

Most of the race was spent hot lapping, but I knew I needed to keep a healthy gap to those behind, I also desperately wanted to catch the leader, but he admitted he had underqualified and had the liberty of casually lapping at the same speeds as my hot laps, so there was no catching him. He finished about 800ft ahead of me after he turned the wick down on his engine. Still I grabbed 2nd in class, kept my nose completely clean and even bagged a personal best of 2:05.9!!
