IM IN!

My mum has said i can use the Big TV in the living room, the internet connection should be ok, i hope, it depends if my bro is online but i might have to kick him off it for a few hours a week. I have my new work schedules and i wont be working, so hopefully i can race every weekend. I think im going to be racing in the Indypendables but as everyone presumed i left the team forever i dunno where i stand on that!

It would, and this is an issue that I never considered... what if a driver wanted to join a 1 car team that was already using the 3rd of 3 cars?

Ask Mr E nicely if he minds changing cars? The season hasn't started yet so I guess changing cars is still an option in this case.

I have a solution for you Buffy. If you wanted to, you could join FRT as third driver. That way if the connection goes stupid and you have to quit, you arent leaving a team with only one driver. Only thing is you would need to have the Ferrari 458 DLC. Livery (as you can see on the other thread) is all done but can put you on a couple of flair bits to personalise it (like on mine I have "ENGAGE" [from my season 5 livery] on the bumpers and on Kimsters there is "ICEMAN")

The code for your results tables (drivers, at least). As always, the number of empty cells between the results and the points column depend on the seasons you've competed in before.

My apologies. An edit to the above, but the 'AMR' rounds should, of course, read 'ATL'.

I've gone through and changed it on the driver and team pages that I've seen have added the tables (from what's on the 'Recent Changes' page of the wiki, but I may have missed some, so please double check it is correct.

The mistake has been corrected on the above code.

As of 23:55 Sunday 30th Sept.

I'll be racing as the lone representative of Monolith Motorsport.

Well that was easy :)

I've added you and your team to the series wiki page and created a page for each. What race number and flags would you like to use? Click here to see a list of registered numbers.

After that, paint and race!

Hi Race (do you have a name name?). Before you do jump straight into one of our proper races, we'll ask if you can join in a few practise/casual races with us just so we can check for any connection and/or personality issues. Although I'm sure you'll be fine, but anyway, we've had bad experiences with unknowns jumping straight in.

Once you've been around for a few races I can sort out a wiki login (it's seperate from the forums) so you can join in with that. But the wiki is reserved for members who stick arond for longer than 10 minutes.

I am now unfortunately very doubtful for this season, or at least the start of it. My Xbox, which has been on the fritz and getting held together more and more by spit and sawdust for a year now, seemingly has finally given up the ghost. Probably could get it fixed but would be beyond my capabilities (ie fine soldering work etc). Whats worse is that I can't really afford to go get a new one due to lack of paid work (still) and money being incredibly tight right now with a wedding coming up and British Gas trying to be prats over a large chunk of money that we suddenly owe them from a cleared account from 2 years ago.
So yeah. All a bit crap at the moment. Will see what happens and see if I can get it fixed some other way or make a load of money between now and next week. Not looking promising though.

Without wishing to derail the thread, when it comes to companies chasing you for money, there's a acceptable timeframe in which they have to inform you. If they've suddenly alerted you to some outstanding debts from two years ago - that they weren't switched on enough to notice all this time - you can probably get away with telling them to get fucked. ;)

I speak from experience.

Fingers crossed you can make it Ben. We replaced our Xbox just last week. It was £180 from Gamestation and came with Forza 4 and FIFA 13, which we instantly traded back, knocking £45 off the overall cost.

I'm sure Sam could give a little advice too.

But anyway, sorry to hear that Ben, was looking forward to seeing those 2 Ferraris on the grid. I'm sure Kimster will do you proud.

Have to taken the 'box to bits? or at least removed the cover to see if anything is amiss. Sometimes the little things can help, like allowing more ventilation, or turning it vertical if you usually have it standing, and vice versa, etc. Although if you've already tried this then I guess that won't help.

Yeah have had the box to bits a few times. Its an E73 error. Have already fixed standard RROD on it once by removing the x-clamps. Only tip I found was to overheat it and it would kick it out of the error screen and work again. Now that doesnt work. Read about reflowing the board but without specialist tools thats pretty hard. Have seen a way to do it by putting the xbox in an oven, but really dont want to do that! Might have a bit of a play about with some solder type glue stuff I have lying around somewhere and see if that helps but as I dont know which connection it could be thats loose, then Im pretty much back to the start again.
As for British Gas being prats, its a bill from beginning of last year. Doesnt help that our previous letting agents were slack and didnt have a key to our meter cupboard and are screwing us about getting our start reading for us now

Haha, yeah, reflowing the solder is tricky, and I was going to say just put it in the oven unthil I read the next sentence.

Where I work now we sell electrical connectors, so I've learnt about all these soldering processes. Basically everything on there is built to withstand a certain heat, but I've heard of people putting motherboards etc in the oven to fix any broken contacts.

So long as you set the oven high enough to melt the solder but low enough not to damage anything else, I say stick the thing in the oven and have a go. What do you have to lose?
