First up, big apologies to Flob who was unable to connect to either lobby. I was gutted about that :( He'll be getting invited first next week.

All-in-all a great opening night I thought.

Qualifying
Way too cautious. 9th in lobby.

Race one
Absolutely brilliant. Found myself playing at the back with Alex and Barney in the opening stages. Great fun all round and looks great on the replays. I particularly enjoyed being passed and then re-passing Alex (around the outside, no less).

Our little group managed to haul in the PJ/Dan/Tommy battle and when PJ and Dan had their incident I was up to 5th - until PJ caught me and passed me into the Corkscrew with a superb move. 6th

Great choice Scott, these 207s are fantastic to race!

Race two
Had a good start and ran third for a while with Smifaye chasing me. He eventually passed me on the pit straight. I drafted him and tried to re-pass into turn one. We had a little contact letting Shouty through, bit of a racing incident. Then on the run down to the big stop at turn five I outbraked myself and went left to avoid hitting Smifaye, in what looked like the world worst overtaking attempt! Sorry about that Adam!

Later in the race I ran wide at the carousell, letting Jay catch up. We had a great little dice to the end where he beat me to fifth. Clean, clinical, measured racing as always from Jay 'the surgeon' Cooper  6th

Race three
Tagged Tommy into a spin early on but from the way his car flew forward I think it was a chain reaction from me getting hit from behind. I need to check the replay to make sure.

Had a couple of fun scraps with Alex and Jay on my way to 8th.

Not too bad a night given my severe lack of practice. Some useful points at least...

Thanks to everybody that took part. Barney is sorting out the championship standings this afternoon. There will of course be a highlights video at some point too.

Roll on event two!

To be perfectly honest, the overtake of the season thing never really seems to go anywhere so I didn't bother with it.

What I would like to see though is photos from people's races. Come on, people! We spend ages making our cars look nice and then never show them off! Lets get these event pages rammed with brilliant photos.

Unofficial Lobby 2 championship standings:

Mattrick 28
Icthyes 20
Niall 19
Jamm 12
Mateo 7
Buffy 4
Tom 4
Ben 3
Scott 3
Tommo 2
Rach 0

Using 10-8-6-4-3-2-1 this season as we should have more in Lobby 2. Plus makes it closer.

Belated thanks to Rach for joining us and sticking with it, I was as far off the pace in my first races so don't worry!

Nah, if anybody wants to start a thread celebrating some of the overtaking highlights then by all means, but there'll be nothing official.

I'd rather people focused on racing safely in the moment, because I've seen instances in the past where drivers appear to be more concerned with how the action would look on the replays and photos afterwards... ;)

 That'll be the closest I ever get to being a surgeon. Good respectful racing again as always Pete, thanks.

Can i just check that i will remain in Lobby 2? I would prefer to stay here if possible, at least for the OSCAR comp :D

The freedom experienced while riding with no pants on is exhilarating, and one which i would like to continue with.

I am just pleased that my brown leather driving chair is brown as there wasnt just skids on the corkscrew at Laguna Seca i can tell yea!!

This is most disturbing

Of course, if you're worried about the effect on the leather, next time you could try putting a towel or even some newspaper down ;)

Moving between lobbies is supposed to be fluid. You were competing with some of the lobby 1 drivers on times so i doubt you'll be in lobby two much longer. The idea is to balance skill So a driver does not gain an advantage by not racing his peers

Week 1 of MEMES I nearly got a podium through Hotlapping, but ended up getting 2 in Lobby 1 later on in the season anyway.

Lobby 1 isn't all about lap record pace though, even in Wednesday's races the field split into 3/4 groups, so I'm sure you'll fit in with a few drivers and won't be languishing round the back :)

Thank you! Ive not had the game long, and don't really play racing games much in general (I always buy them but end up spending days on end playing RPGs instead!)

I plan to stick with it, hopefully I can improve as the season progresses.

Well your "sportsladyship" was second to none as you made sure you didnt get in the way of anybody lapping you, sometimes by driving completely off the track and into the wall, but keep at it and you will soon get better :P

And the results are in!

Shouty and Smifaye - the only drivers to finish 2nd and 3rd so far - lead the championship! The following 3 drivers are the 3 race winners so far. Good close start to the season and wow, 22 driver tables look awesome.

This is the first test of OSCARs code generating spreadsheet so point out any errors you might see and check your points tally is correct. Rookies will be highlighted soon.

Roger that and sorted. Please don't actually change the tables when you see an error people, just tell me it Helps with fixing the problem and means it won't happen again when the table is updated.

Cheers Barney :)

Although we don't have a separate table for rookies - we just add the blue to the main table ;)
