CAR Round 8 - Dijon-Prenois

The championship decider! After a few new tracks throughout the season, Dijon should be a more well-known venue to most of us, so join us this Sunday, 5th September 2021 to find out who's going to take the CAR crown!

Approximate Schedule (all times BST)
19:00 - Practice, 30 minutes
19:30 - Qualifying, 15 minutes
19:45 - Warmup, 5 minutes
19:50 - Race 1, 25 minutes - standing start
20:25 - Race 2, 35 minutes - reverse top X (between 10 and 15) from qualy

Somehow I've got a championship to try and win.

Went in with a chance of the title but @Daniel Hurlock's presence meant it was going to be a very tall order.

Race 1
Was on my own for the most part, maintaining the gap to @Chris Williamson. However, even with his limited running, I couldn'l live with Dan's pace. Inherited a rather undeserved 3rd after @ajokay spun and @Dan disconnected, which set up the finale quite nicely.

Race 2
I knew I had to finish at least directly behind Dan to win the title, which was always going to be a big ask. I led off the reverse grid but it went pear shaped when Dan overtook @shaxberd then snookered me by giving Bjorn a slipstream. It started to unravel from there as I fell into the clutches of the pack who were all faster than me, then a lapse of concentration on lap 6 put me at the back with horrible flatspots. I didn't make much progress from there and clumsily collided with @annariot trying to pass her for 5th, so settled for 6th.

Congratulations Dan! A very deserving champion.
