Welcome to the Realish Racing Game Night!
What's this, you ask? Where's my simracing, you ask? Nah, this time we're venturing into other game (SimRacing isn't a game!) genres and switching this up a bit. Not because we didn't have a feasible concept for this SE or because noone cashed in, naaah - just because we can.
So here it is, the Realish Racing Game Night, where it's all about the fun and race starts don't matter. Well, feel free to add one start to your tally for your participation, I guess.
But apart from that, it's not about racing! Apart from the bits that are! More on that below. But first, let's have a look at our game collection, shall we? We'll be looking at various rounds of:
(further games might be added)
But.. but where's the competition in all of that? Oh don't you worry - each of these games will offer the opportunity to take something home:
For Marble Racing, the podium finishers will gather points.
And while we'll continue until there's a winner, the chip count at the 20th round of poker will be converted into points as well, with the eventual winner of the inaugural Realish Series of Poker taking home some more points on top of that.
It's back to podium points for the Super Tux Kart Races, and after all of that individualism, it'll be all teamwork for Spyfall (well, except for the spy... Campbell) - the winners, if there are any, of each round will get points as well!
All times are GMT and estimates that we won't meet.
19:00 - Meet up, maybe a few test marble races to kill time, installation support and poker ruleset overview.
19:15 - Round 1: Marble Racing
19.45 - Round 2: Poker
- 7 rounds, podium spots gain points: 10/7/5
- overall winner gains points: 10/7/5
20:15 - Round 3: Super Tux Kart
- chip counts after 15 games are divided by 100 and rounded up to determine points
- game continues until we crown an overall winner who gets another 20 points
20:45 - Round 4: Spyfall
- we'll crash a public server for 4 rounds, top 3 Realish finishers gain points: 16/12/8
- overall winner gains points: 16/12/8
- 3 rounds, winning team members gain 25 points
No infos on the integration into Crashmas yet though, that's for the advent calendar to reveal
Afterwards, there should be plenty time for more drinks, jackboxing and more games as well.
However, what do points mean in the end? No arbitrary championship tables this time around, no no no - these points, in some way yet to be determined, will be converted into a bonus for your participation at this year's Crashmas: Using last year's ruleset as an example, you'd be starting with a higher initial bankroll for your bets, for example.
So come out and play!
