Welcome to the 12th annual Merry Crashmas event!
The event will be held on Saturday, 17th December 2022, with the following format and session start times (all GMT):
19:00 - Finding your way to TS, maybe a few practice/noncounting demo derbies, asking for savegames several times, opening presents
19:30 - Banger Race 1
19:40-ish - Banger Race 2
and so on for banger races, crash derbies and more present opening if needed
After two years of keeping silly-ish rules around, but not giving you as much interactive elements, it's time to get you people back to work, right? Unfortunately, the Realishdollarydoo currency is struggling a bit these days, so instead we'll use an even more imaginary currency - Crashmas Fantasy Flames!
This being the 12th Crashmas event, you'll be given 12 Flames, and interestingly enough, these will serve as your budget to create a fantasy team of up to 4 drivers whose Flame prices will be determined based on past Crashmas' results!
In the next few days, a team creation/signup page will become available that will allow you to create and update your team as well as sign in to join the event so your name will actually appear as an available fantasy choice - keep your eyes peeled for that!
Once the crashing commences, you will earn points for yourself on track, but you will also get 25% of your team's driver's scored points, as well- however, there's more: Apart from the team lineup itself you'll also have to select one race to be your turbo round beforehand, resulting in your share of your fantasy team's points rocketing up to 40% instead!
As usual, all of this will apply to the 5 banger races only - once our champ is crowned, it's time to turn ourselves towards the death part of the evening: 3 last man standing deathmatches with the winners, if necessary, going up against each other in lawnmowers! Apart from that shootout, you will have to drive the same car throughout the entire event with class restrictions in place to allow cars up to the B class.
As ever, there's @craighypheno save game up on the FTP for those that don't fancy playing through the single player mode.
