Sugo Stewarding Post

Pit Entry: On the right on the main straight
Pit Exit: Rejoin on the right after 2nd Corner. There's no blend line but please keep to the right immediately after you rejoin the track.

Track Notes
This track is tight and very narrow. There are several corners where two-wide isn't going to work unless both drivers cooperate so please use some common sense. If you're being lapped, you should move over at the first reasonable opportunity but you don't need to significantly compromise your race or go off-track to let a lapping car through.

There are big braking zones at 1st Corner and Horseback Corner. Be aware of other cars around you and be prepared to brake earlier than you normally would in the opening laps.

I don't expect track limits to be a major issue as there are high kerbs and grass around the track, but keep two wheels on the track at all times please.

Event Notes
Please be careful on the opening lap. We've had big crashes in the last two events caused by people moving over into another car's path. Be aware of cars around you and don't move across the track unless you are absolutely sure there's space to do so.

We will have a rolling start. Run the formation lap in single file behind the safety car before forming up before 110R Corner.

These cars do not tolerate contact at all well and even a slight touch will cause damage. As such, we will take a hard line on avoidable contact where we find it/where it's reported.

We will review lap 1 of both races as well as any incident reports. Please report incidents to @camp_bell or @Lemm314 on this forum or Discord by 19:00 UK time on Tuesday, 17th September 2019.

We had better not be using the chicane.

Good to be back!

Q: Somewhere near the middle.

R1: Okay, bar an incident with Mark who I let go by and apologised for. Plundered around for a bit then recovered nicely to P8, with an amazing fight against @jims709 to boot that really got me going again and reminded me why I do this. Thanks mate. <3

R2. Led 2 laps then retired in a blaze of glory.

Okay actually not I might have spun and been hit, sorry about that but I did follow the "what to do if you spin" handbook, the car just had a mind of its own. Drifted it for a bit then retired.

An enjoyable evening though! Maybe I'll do another race or 2 :P

That was fun, always good stuff at Sugo :) Qualified P6 and lost a place off the line as I had expected, then managed to hang on to @camp_bell and @Lemm314 due to them losing time battling or off track - P5 in the end, I'll have that.
Good start into R2, but then couldn't avoid a spinning @cosmo - pushed hard to make up for the damage and had a great battle with @jims709 doing so but ultimately ran out of talent and/or tyres doing that in the penultimate lap, then lost more place to finish Craigth

Thanks for racing, people! :)

This was fun, thanks for racing everyone! Thanks to @shaxberd, @camp_bell, @KJP93, @sin_racing and others for racing. I should probably try not eating shit off the race starts next time though, oops.

Q: Meh. Faster than I expected but still well off the pace.

R1: Eh... Pretty slow. Realized that I'm struggling a lot with braking confidence in this car.

R2: Slidy Bumper Cars. I would say more, but I feel as though a couple of drivers already don't like me much after that race.

Quali
Pipped Mark for 4th right at the end, which was pleasing.

Race 1
Managed to hang on to the top three for a couple of laps before making an annoying mistake which let @sin_racing and @Lemm314 through. Mark then helpfully removed himself three corners later and it was then a case of waiting for April's tyres to catch her out a few laps later. The top three were long gone by then and I was lapping faster than Bjorn, so I came home a fairly lonely 4th.

Race 2
Got jumped by @lazaros18 off the start but avoided any major dramas. I just about dodged @cosmo and Bjorn when Josh had his spin on lap 3, but Lazaros was long gone by then and I put up a very meek defence against @fjordnet when he appeared a couple of laps later. I pushed hard in case the top two came together but they never did so I finished in a very lonely 3rd.

Thoroughly pleased with how that went. With Mike missing this round and Mark having... adventures, I knew I needed to take the maximum points I could and I'm pleased I managed to do that.

Q: When you lose pole by 0.006s at the death. P2

R1: Did enough to stick with @fjordnet and lunge into T1 on the second lap. Drove away until the tyres went away then defended as much as I needed to. Missed a gearshift to 6th and nearly fucked it coming to the flag but we won! P1

R2: Bumper cars. Fun battle for 6th until I got murdered again, including trying to go saidu-by-saidu in the chicane with @Lemm314 which didn't really work but hey we tried! No points, not good. P10

Q: Got pole at the death by an absolutely miniscule margin. 5/6 so far this season :P

Feature: Had a good start, pulled away in the first sector before almost losing it at T4, @KJP93 got past at T1 the next lap and then was pretty much behind by about a second for most of it. Got close at the end but didn't quite have the speed at the right spots to make a real attempt for the lead. P2

Sprint: Got an ok launch, however it was a clean first lap that really made the race. Had a battle with @jims709 for a couple of laps, then went and got @camp_bell with the leadiest of right feet out of Horseback Corner. Chased down @lazaros18 for the rest of it, was just about there with 3 minutes to go but wasn't able to get past in the end, despite getting down the inside of him in the final corner and getting a better exit if not for touching the grass. P2

Don't think I can play as nice for the final two rounds now... :P
