The Whitebread Knockoff Watches Grand Touring Super Sprint Series (GTSSS) is the 7th season of Really Rubbish Racing Forza Motorsport competition, the 5th to use Forza Motorsport 4, and the first to feature Grand Touring (GT) race-ready sports cars.

The content of season 7 was decided upon by a vote open to all club members. 3 options were offered, each of which had been suggested at various times over the past year by club members. Of the 26 votes cast, GTSSS won by a single vote from the second place choice SEAT Leon SuperCopa (11 votes to 10). The remaining 5 votes were for a season of NASCARRR. GT cars of a similar specification have seen action in Really Rubbish Racing events before - initially in the club's first special event, the GEER 100 Miles of Laguna Seca, and secondly as the lower of two classes in the club's first birthday event, Bon Anniversaire! - however this will be the first time that GT sports car racing will make up a full season.

Pre-Season

Having become the first RRR Driver to win two Forza championships in a row, OSCAR and MEMES champion Smifaye will be going for a third title on the bounce. Once again he resumes his partnership with RumblyLizard in the Black Raptors team. They field a pair of Corvette ZR1 machines, with Rumbly besotted by the sound of their V8 engines at the recent World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Silverstone event. For the first time since the HGTM, drivers Ajokay and Bookoi with resume their partnership in a full Forza season as POWA. The two times they've been paired as team mates in Forza seasons, Ajokay has placed ahead of Bookoi in the standings, but the past two seasons in their private teams has seen Bookoi get the better of his southern rival. The line-up stays all British with their choice of the McLaren MP4-12C GT3.

With FlavouryRug unable to make the season due to other commitments, and Tomcheesey seemingly AWOL, HGTM champions CheeseyRug Racing will not make a return to defend their title. In their pace we see the new partnership of HGTM Champion Shouty and the ever-improving PJ in their new team Goteki House. Running under the Japanese flag, the amalgamation of their previous teams sees race winner and infamous team-hopper Flobadob join as a third driver. Having originally chosen the Panoz Abruzzi, following some early testing, the American car was deemed to have an unfair advantage. Goteki House has since switched to the Italian Stallion of the Lamborghini Gallardo of their own accord and are looking to regain the pace they lost from the car switch.

Season 7 sees the return to the Teams' Championship of The Indypendables. Since HGTM, we've seen their drivers win races and begin to mount strong title challenges. Now back together, they've claimed the services of 'star of the future' JayCoops who was left without a team after the 11th hour pull-out of team-mate-to-be FlavouryRug and their new team Jayvoury Racing, touted as 'the quickest team never to race'. Indy Alfa had acquired 3 Aston Martin DBR9's to race this season before switching to the BMW Z4 GT3 due to the drivers' inability to control when the Aston would crash. TommyB, Icthyes and Dan Thorn will pilot the Bavarian machine. The second of the two Pan-European teams, Indy Beta sees returnee Butler258 join with new driver JayCoops. They will race the gullwinged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.

Further down the grid, OSCAR newcomers nOc75 and Mattrick have teamed up with Don Mateo for for new team PSP Motorsports. They will definitely be a team to watch as they compete in the Lotus Evora Type 124. Multiple 2012 F1 Summer Series race winner Kimstermagnum joins Covamalia at his team Firecruiser Racing, who are fielding a pair of menacing-looking Ferrari F458 Italia. The ATTK Motorsport pairing of TheWilkesy88 and Ratonedge take OSCAR Rookie ScouseRach under their wing in a trio of Jaguar XKR GT. Mr E and Slevmeister go it along in their privateer teams, in the ART Viper GTR-S and the Forza Noelinho Ferrari F430GT respectively. Swedish driver Becker SWE chose the Ferrari 458 once it became known that his preferred choice (the Lamborghini Gallardo) wasn't available.

With several different cars on 7 different tracks, there's bound to be plenty of exciting action over the next 2 months as RRR returns to a full-on racing car championship for the first time since HGTM. It'll be interesting to see who has improved since then and whether or not we'll see new race winners, podium placers and a potential new champion.

The Format

Each event will consist of 4 sessions: 1 qualifying shoot-out session, 1 sprint race, 1 feature race, and a support race.

First will come a qualifying shoot-out. 2 or 3 laps to set your fastest lap time and book your spot on the grid for the first race. As per usual RRR rules, clean qualifying laps always come before dirty ones, no matter how fast the dirty ones may be.

The first race will be a 15 minute long sprint race with a grid decided by the qualifying session.

The second race will be a 25 minute long feature race with a reverse grid dictated by lobby points up until that point, taking into account qualifying and race 1. This race will feature a mandatory pit-stop to be taken during the middle third of the race. Exactly which laps the pit-stop windows fall on will be detailed closer to the start of the season.

Once the main series races are over, the drivers will swap their GT cars for their Alfa Romeo Trofeo MiTos for the support race. a 10-15 minute race with a random grid.

Car List

The provisional list of cars that teams are able to choose from is as follows. Only 3 of each car are eligible for selection, and all members of a team must drive the same model of car, meaning a car chosen by a 3-driver team will use up the entirety of that model's quota. Cars may be upgraded to the maximum PI levels, maximum horsepowers, and a minimum weight limits shown in the table below.

Cars are divided into 3 groups based on performance, and then restricted down to the level of the third group to ensure equal performance between all cars. These restrictions are applied on Forza's online lobbies and the settings can be found here.

The series organisers reserve the right to adjust these values should any car appear to be gaining an unfair advantage throughout the course of the season.

The Season in Pictures

Season 7 saw a return to thoroughbred racing cars, which provided fast and exciting action.
From the start, the leading battle was between Goteki House and the Black Raptors.
PSP Motorsports was one of the newest teams to take part, as 3 existing drivers combined forces.
Trofeo MiTo was RRR's first ever Support Series, and gave drivers another car to play with.
Goteki House were in fine form at the start of the season, with all 3 Lamborghinis near the front.
The season saw many different cars on track at once, like the McLaren MP4-12C and Ferrari F430.
There were battles up and down the field, in both lobbies. The racing was hard but fair.
The early MiTo races were all about staying out of trouble, which PJ did to take the Championship lead.
Catalunya was a popular event; the well-balanced circuit saw plenty of battling and overtaking.
Sometimes the insense racing lead to spins and accidents, as drivers fight for the same spot.
Both lobbies were full of action, leading to a varied and colourful field of competitors.
The third MiTo race was also Really Rubbish Racing's 200th overall.
The Lamborghini Gallardo was fast all season, but its advantage was slowly being reeled in by the others.
The Ferrari F458 could accelerate well, but the Lotus Evora had higher top speed.
The Mercedes SLS was the fastest in a straight line, but a bit of a handful in the corners.
Drivers began to get used to the MiTo's handling by Week 4, and the gaps between them were decreasing.
Nurburgring GP always provides good racing, with plenty of places to overtake and outbrake other drivers.
Even though some drivers were team-mates, they still raced hard against each other.
Differing pit strategies shuffled the field and made the final laps very exciting indeed.
The MiTos provided many entertaining moments and even challenged the stronger drivers each week.
One-Shot Qualifying was in place again for Season 7, the ultimate battle of risk and reward.
Battles with 3 or more cars were common throughout the field, especially on tighter tracks.
The Lotus would find the twisty sections difficult while the Viper could take them with confidence.
PJ had lead the MiTo Championship for 5 races, but his Week 7 absence would cost him a title shot.
FlavouryRug made his long-awaited arrival and was immediately on the pace.
Road Atlanta is a popular track for GT drivers, with a nice mix of long straights and tighter turns.
There were several 2-on-1 battles throughout the season, as teammates and rivals faced off.
The Trofeo MiTo Championship went right to the wire, with some drivers driving past their limits.
Just like in HGTM, Shouty had a Schumacher-esqe season, and took the Drivers' title with ease.
Goteki House had developed the strongest car in the entire field, their 3 drivers took home the Teams' title.
Becker SWE had a strong season and showed some great potential to take the Rookie title.
Smifaye was consistently at the top end of the field, which earned him the Trofeo MiTo honours.
